Smile!!

I'm having trouble smiling today after my visit at the neurology center yesterday. Bottom line is that I'm going on for MRIs tomorrow to look for changes from my last set of MRIs. Monday, I begin 3-days of Solumedrol infusions, with the benefit of not needing an oral taper this time. And depending upon the MRI results, we will talk about changing medications because 1-2 relapses (long ones at that) each year are too many.

However, the following performance makes me smile. The sound fills my heart and it is good horn playing indeed. Fun stuff!!

This arrangement of the overture to Ruslan and Ludmilla is found on The London Horn Sound recording.

  1. Hang in there, Lisa. I know how hard it is to smile when you feel like your body is revolting against you. Keep us updated on how the MRI goes- I'll be praying for no new lesions.

  2. So sorry you're going through this. *hug* I hope the MRI goes/went well, and the solumedrol helps fast without too many side effects.

Please keep us posted on the MRI results. And keep finding things that make you smile!

  3. When I had to go in for cancer surgery, I turned up my stereo and danced like a fool! Made my body smile! In my first years w/MS I had several severe attacks each year every year (no meds available then), but some solumedrol, some waiting, some believing I could conquer, and I was back to driving, playing basketball, and living life. Corny as it sounds: Think positive, the stuff going on in your brain is still a mystery to doctors, no matter how sure they sound. Seriously, I HATE all these MRIs people are taking. I think it is wrong and useless. But, we have more choices now and I support whatever an MSer decides, but do stay positive---you are the boss of your brain!

  4. Never a dull moment, is it? When I'm down, I crank up the tunes and sing full volume. I usually get laughing when I get to a point when I don't know the words, so I replace it with my own! Good luck, and best wishes.

  6. Well, golly Miss Molly! I'd say something sharp and witty here, but I got nuttin'...steroids always make me carb load like a pre-marathon. Let's hope this round kicks the shorts off what's ailing you!

  8. Dang, Lisa, I am sorry to hear things are not going well. I still hope that we can get you to follow the Swank diet or the Jelinek diet. I do think this is a far better solution than meds. I continue to see those of us following the diets and doing no meds going for years and years without relapses. The guy who wrote his story for my blog hasn't had a relapse in almost 20 years, I'm going on more than ten years without a relapse (before starting the lifestyle changes I had relapses every two years) and Julie, a newcomer to the lifestyle route, is at about one year.
