It is to discuss the regulatory and pricing issues which affect MS patients who do utilize one of the MS disease-modifying drugs. In addition, these drugs are not immunosuppressants as you state, thus do not prevent the immune system from functioning. It is irresponsible for you to say that MS patients can never really be healthy if they choose to use one of these drugs.Lisa Emrichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10862232056342347990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3500936220214961312.post-25892428320317940742008-04-30T21:27:00.000-04:002008-04-30T21:27:00.000-04:00Why you are speaking about so-called MS drugs as t...Why you are speaking about so-called MS drugs as the only option for MS sufferers.

Anybody, to be healthy must have a healthy and fit immune system.

All these MS drugs actually are immunosuppresants. That means that if you use these (terribly expensive) drugs, you'll never be really healthy.

I am on a permanent MS remission from 1997. No drugs, no doctors. BTW 3 MRI scans confirmed brain damages, typical for MS.

Anybody can choose!

Dr. Czes KulvisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3500936220214961312.post-65213320089632146272008-03-28T11:27:00.000-04:002008-03-28T11:27:00.000-04:00John-Mark, we do have some serious healthcare fina...John-Mark, we do have some serious healthcare financing problems here in the States. Unless you are one of the lucky ones to have great group insurance with a big generous corporation, you'll be paying big bucks.

Charles, I agree with those politicians' heads.

Mdmh, yeah right....when there's no more money to be made with the needles, then we'll see the pills.

Diane, a cure - complete with fast, effective remyelinization - would be the best case scenario. I do happen to know that researchers are working on it, because one of those scientists is a friend of mine in Ohio. But it's still a long ways off.

Amy, no you are not sick in the least. Relief in hearing others speak the words which we may be too timid to say is one of those tiny blessings in life. Regardless where you live, there is no cure on the horizon. I will live and die with MS. Forget me not. Hear me roar, as my life is reduced to a human blob. Like a dog chasing the rabbit it will never catch, life is within my vision, but never reachable.Diane J Standifordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11862850657925658079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3500936220214961312.post-37826688916584421492008-03-25T23:12:00.000-04:002008-03-25T23:12:00.000-04:00Hmmm ... just 20 more years and then we will have ...Hmmm ... just 20 more years and then we will have a pill ... right?mdmhvonpahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05319386081400881905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3500936220214961312.post-345239618712732212008-03-25T19:39:00.000-04:002008-03-25T19:39:00.000-04:00I'm sorry but its just a cheaper way to do somethi...I'm sorry but its just a cheaper way to do something I hate: sticking myself with a needle.

Self injection is still fraught with complications, site reactions and the fact that it plays hell on or with my liver, just to end up with the immune system of an aids patient.

They're not really working on the problem of MS, they're working on the problems with their current solutions.

(Make other travel plans "jm".

Cost is a major factor here in the 'States and can be expected to remain so until the politicians get their heads out of their butts [

Sorry, but its not going to get any better with this bunch of imbecilic politicians, {not with any currently serving Democrat orRepublican... maybe after 2021 (if the 'States survives 'till then.)}])Charles-A.
